Physical Folk is about storytelling. Every culture, community, group or individual has a story to tell. We provide a platform for people to share their stories through a range of mediums including film, drama, dance, visual art and music. We facilitate the sharing of skills and experiences amongst participants, to support and equip those who feel vulnerable or isolated from their community. We believe empowering people to be creative together nurtures community-feeling and cohesion by giving them a voice.
Our creative practitioners work with members of the community to generate and deliver their own social projects. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, to share their skills and grow their community together.
Below is a short promotional film about what we do, made by unemployed 16 to 24 year olds we are working with as part of a ESF and ESFA funded project to enable them to gain employment. This is not our film it is theirs. Enjoy!
